Carolina (disintegrated) • Narvaez: Florida (4 made it) • Pensacola: W. Florida (hurricane) • Lost Colony of Roanoke: N. Carolina & Maine-1st child • Others: Native American domination, weather, conflict, or disease

Colonial Life • Religion: very, very diverse • Farm life • Man’s role & woman’s role • LARGE families • Occupations besides farming • Ship building, Shopkeepers, Merchants (traders), blacksmiths, furniture makers, fishermen • Education: Elementary bible study, Dame schools, Harvard (1636) & Yale (1701)
