  8. HCC Assessment Plan • Use of CAAP from 2009-2014. Then another CAAP retesting in 2018. • Use of embedded assessments with the new core: • Spring 2015, Critical Thinking (Govt and Phil) • Spring 2016, Communication (Engl and TBD) • Spring 2017, Social Responsibility and Personal Responsibility (TBD) • Spring 2018, Teamwork and Quantitative Literacy (Chem, Biol, Math)

What is required November 30, 2013? • State report, describing • Course selection process: • Brief summary of process and procedures for course approval, including faculty and committee involvement (Amy Tan and Susan Goll) • 2. Core objective Assessment: • Process for determining attainment level of each Core Objective • Plan for assessment, including methods, targets/criteria, analysis, and actions and follow-ups (Charles Cook and Judy Cantwell)

  10. What is required, cont. • Proposed Courses • Course information-prefix, number, title, TCCNS equivalent, component area • Link to specific evidence of where the students will demonstrate all parts of the 6 core objectives such as syllabi and other relevant material We will develop a website which will include all this information. Website will include course titles, brief descriptions, component area, and links to course application, syllabus, course justifications, and assessment plans for specific core objectives.   11. Implementation • August 1-- November 30, 2013 : • HCC’s core curriculum due to Coordinating Board staff for review • February 2014: • All reviews completed by THECB staff and returned to institutions • Fall 2014: • Statewide implementation of core curriculum for incoming Freshmen
