Dr. Cohan’s Education Dr. Gary Cohan received his undergraduate degrees in English and Biology (1982) from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts, did postgraduate research (1983) at Cambridge University in England, and completed his M.D. (1987) at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Pennsylvania. In 1990, Dr. Gary Cohan in Beverly hills completed special training in HIV care at San Francisco General Hospital in San Francisco, California. Dr. Cohan completed his residency in Internal Medicine at The Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia in 1990.
