Where We Are Now • Announced April 2012 by Transport Minister Troy Buswell • A dedicated one-stop-shop for WA’s Transport Industry
The OSOM Unit • Provides a single point of contact to facilitate all OSOM moves – permits, escorts, power utilities • Hosted by Main Roads HVO Branch • Overseen by independent Advisory Committee • Emphasis on service delivery in consultation with Industry

Key Milestones to Date - 1 • Transfer of Traffic Escort function from WA Police to OSOM • Traffic Escort staff increased from 9 to 33 • Booking turnaround time significantly reduced
Key Milestones to Date - 2 • Night moves • Helpdesk • 8 lines on Great Northern Highway between Perth and Wubin undergrounded in 2012 • Undergrounding Melville to Mandurah route begun • We are working with Western Power to begin work on other routes • Around 340 lines identified for undergrounding

OSOM Traffic Bays • Focus on Great Northern Highway • Design complete for five pullover bays and three layover bays between Newman and Port Hedland • Construction to commence after wet season
OSOM Pilot Accreditation Scheme • New regulatory framework • Incorporates all relevant regulatory and administrative requirements for road pilots in WA • Streamlines former multi-agency system
2013 and Beyond • Maintain dialogue with industry • Continuous assessment of changing needs
