GuidelinesfornarrowcastingWhat do youneed to do and know? • In any way or form, P-Cast is (seen as) a Philips communication tool. To ensure a correct use of this Philips communication tool, there are some guidelines that have to be followed: • What not! • The system will not be used to display PowerPoint, pdf and word documents. • As TV’s are also seen by (external) visitors. So do not publish any sensitive information or information that sends out a bad image of Philips. • Editor • Narrowcasting will be installed only after the department has appointed a dedicated editor that is responsible for the content (timely and according to the communication guidelines) • Tone of voice • The tone of voice of our writing is personal, clear, vibrant and credible. Always active (example: we will be informed by facilities -> Piet Pieterse of facilities will inform us no later than…) • Dutch: always “jij-vorm” • Language • The language used for narrowcasting should be determined once during the start-up and kept as guideline (broadcasting on P-Cast is mainly in Dutch) • Content • Title: no more that 30 characters (including spacing) • Body: text should be about 50-60 words (300-310 characters) • Overall: messages should work via teasers that link to channels that provide more info (e.g. intranet, ConnectUs, etc.) • Timing • Agree within your department how often you will publish new items. We advice to post new items every week and have these items be published for about a week. • Please also review “tips to make content” available on the P-Cast documentation site
