You will sit with a group of 3-5 students to share your expertise about a climate region of the world. • You will each have about 2 minutes to share with your group. • Describe the climate in in the region you read about. • Explain how it’s climate is affected by some of the climate factors. • When you are listening to others you need to pay attention & ask questions. You need to understand one another's climate examples. • Take notes in the chart as other discuss climate factors you did not read about or to record new details you hear. You will work together in your group to figure out what the climate might be like in different cities around the world. • You will get a set of Mystery Data Cards and a Regional Climate Map • You will need to match each card to a location on the map. COLLABORATE to Solve a Regional Climate Mystery
Select one location you are reasonably certain is a match for the information on the card. • Explain how you know the location on the “Writing About Regional Climate” sheet. • Be sure to include evidence from the map • Include reasoning from your regional climate notes to support your explanation. • Turn in when you are finished, be sure to staple it to the top of your other two pieces of paper. • If you finish early you must find something quiet to do.
