  6. Guiding Principles • We Are A Family • Discipline • Accountability • Fundamentals • Commitment • Pride • Fun

  7. GP1 - We Are A Family • Family members fight, have disagreements, hold grudges, and do all sorts of other things that upset their “siblings”. But in the end, they’d do anything they could to protect them. This inherent trait is fiercely powerful and keeps us together. Never forget the power of togetherness.

  8. GP2 - Discipline • You must hold yourself to a higher standard than everyone else holds you. This means both on AND off the field. The softball field is an extension of the classroom and your best effort is expected in both areas. Be disciplined in all of your decisions and actions and the game, and life, become much easier.

  9. GP3 - Accountability • You, and you alone, are responsible for your actions. You can expect consequences for not adhering to the standards we have set as a team.

  10. GP4 - Fundamentals • We will have high expectations of our team members to master the fundamentals of the game. You may have been coached with other methods in the past. That is understandable and fair. Our coaching staff will work with you the best we can as long as you are willing to listen to suggestions. In the end, the fundamentals of the game are the same regardless of your coach. You win with a strong focus on the fundamentals. This is how we will build and maintain our program.

  11. GP5 - Commitment • You have committed to being a part of this program. That comes with a certain level of expectations. These expectations will be made very clear to all involved. If the level of commitment required is not met, consequences may be rendered. We can only be successful if everyone is fully committed to our cause and our goals.

  12. GP6 - Pride • It is very important that you are proud to be a part of this program. We will hold ourselves high and be proud to represent Sheboygan North High School Softball. This holds true if we are undefeated or if we haven’t won a single game. If you are not proud to be a part of this program, we do not have a spot for you.

  13. GP7 - Fun • Above all, softball should be fun. The moment it becomes a “chore” is the moment you need to stop playing. The coaching staff will push you and push you and push you to make you the best person and player you can be. But we will do it with compassion and joy and allow you to grow and enjoy this wonderful game that we are all lucky to be a part of.

  14. Hierarchy of Priorities
