  4. Satellites Weather satellites take pictures of the movement of clouds over the whole earth so that scientists monitor the weather in the different parts of the earth. Communication satellites relay or pass on the communication between distant areas from the land to a ship at sea. These satellites appear fixed in the sky maintaining position above the earth’s surface.
