Used with verbs of motion to express purpose Caesar it urbem captum. Caesar goes to capture the city.
Practice with accusative supines IveruntRomam Caesarem visum. They went to Rome to see Caesar. Caecilius contendit ad basilicamorationesauditum. Caecilius hurries to the court house to hear the speeches.
Ablative supines Formation: Fourth principal part ending in “u” Fero, ferre, tuli, latus-- “Latu”
Ablative Supines Used with adjectives as an ablative of respect: Hic liber est facile lectu. This book is easy (with respect to reading) to read.
Practice with ablative supines Hic est mirabiledictu. This is amazing to say. Haec cena facile factu erat. This dinner was easy to make. Dolor erat difficilelatu. The sorrow was difficult to bear.
