Background • The Xbox Kinect is a device that uses the player’s actually body movements to control the people/ objects in the game. • It is a device sold separately from the Xbox 360, and only works with kinect specific games.
Price • Xbox 360 w/ Kinect bundle = $299.99 each • Projectors =~$299.99 • In a class of 20 approximately 10 would be needed. • Kinect sports game = $29.99 • Kinect training = $49.99
Advantages • Gets students active doing outdoor games inside. • Interests wider range of students (Gamers) • Allows students with less skill to still achieve success • Can use teamwork or promote competition
Advantages • Promotes physical activity outside of class. • Works well with special needs students because they use their body to make the movements.
Disadvantages • Costly • Require a lot of outlets • Can malfunction • Not 100% lifelike • Does not actually improve skill levels
