Jet Ski splash By: Gwyneth Lietz
“Let’s go!!!” It was a hot day, with the sun making you feel like you’re on FIRE, so I decided to take a Jet Ski ride. It was another beautiful day at Duck Lake. If I didn’t hop on soon my sister or one of my cousins would get their first. The black and yellow paint was gleaming in the sun, so I hopped on and started the ignition. VROMMMMMMMMMMMMM the engine roared. I had to start slow because it was a no wake zone, my cousin Tyler, and Mackenzie were on one ski, and me and my sister and I were on another. We raced across the water at what felt like 100 mph. The wind and water were blowing in my face.
We all yelled. “WOOHOO!” The feeling of the hot sun baking down at us and the cool water splashing in my face felt great. I thought in my head about the time when my cousin flew off the bumble-bee colored Jet Ski, when he hit a big wave. He looked like a flying chicken when he flew off. I hoped that didn’t happen to me. My wish came true, but Mackenzie’s didn’t. “WOAH!” she said as she fell off the back off the Jet Ski. So Emma stepped off the gas next to Mackenzie. I was afraid she might get hit by a passing boat or Jet Ski. “Wave your arms in the air so the boats can see you!” Tyler yelled.
Mackenzie flapped her arms like she was going to fly. There was a ski that almost hit her by an inch. Tyler circled around, so Mackenzie climbed back on, we all thought she would be scared and never wanted to go on again. “Are, you all right?” I asked. “Let’s leave.” Mackenzie said. I know I would have been scared to death. So we drove back to the house, all wet, soggy, and thrilled.
