Pabal’s Water Supply System

1. Pabal’s Water Supply System Pipeline 6” galvanised steel, gravity run system, goes to V.A then to the main village of Pabal. Distribution system 3” pipes, 2” pipes are used at inclines to increase the pressure. Off this there are 300 houses with private ½ “ connections and 200 houses are served by 1” communal connections, with two taps per connection. Only one water tower working Capacity 170,000 litres. Pipeline is trenched 3-4 ft deep, 6” PVC , this section of pipe work has leakage problems due to poor joints and un authorised construction Water is pumped from the well up to the water tower, there are 2 pumps , 1 is a standby each are 15hp. Secondary distribution system is a large well in the centre of Pabal, Next to the canal, this feeds in to the 1,000 litres capacity tank in the village. This is mainly used when there is problems with the pipeline From the dam. This source is also fed into the same distribution network.
