TheteachersinCarrey'shighschoolgavehimafewminutesattheendofeachschooldaytodoastand-uproutineforhisclassmates. • TheCarreyfamilyfellonhardtimesandwereforcedtomovetoScarborough, aTorontosuburb, wheretheytooksecurityandjanitorialjobsintheTitanWheelsfactory. Carreybeganworkingeight-hourshiftseachdayafterschool. Eventually, theCarreyfamilyescapedlifeatTitanbylivingonarelative'slawnoutofthefamilyVolkswagenvanuntiltheycouldmovebackdowntown.
