  3. Is there a God? Some people fail to believe in God. Others believe mistakenly about Him.

  4. Is there a God? • The question about God is the single most important question that can ever be asked. The answer that we give to this question determines our present and our future. • It gives, or fails to give, true meaning to our lives, and it shapes our identity.

  5. Is there a God? • No man, no society, no civilization, no religion is greater than its idea of God. • We, individually or collectively, eventually become what the God we believe in makes us.

  6. Nowadays we not only have the problem of unbelief, but also that of false belief • Today, some people believe that God is unknown and can’t be known. Some others think that he created the world but does not intervene in its affairs. They would say that he is like a watchmaker who sets everything going and then abandons it to tick on its own.

  7. Nowadays we not only have the problem of unbelief, but also that of false belief • Others again argue that different religions all say some correct things about God and that what we need to do is to make a synthesis of their views in order to understand him fully.

Nowadays we not only have the problem of unbelief, but also that of false belief • Others claim that God is within themselves and that they know him at the bottom of their hearts in their own individual way. • Some others have a minimalist or even a negative view of God. They think of him as the author of a rule-book, as a punisher, as a point-scorer, as a sin-picker. • Or, differently again, they think of him as an impersonal entity that will eventually absorb and depersonalize everything that exists

  10. What about the Christian God? The Church Believes He is three Persons and One God - Each Person of the Trinity is fully God - The Persons are distinct but never divided - He is the God of love and communion

  11. What about the Christian God? The Church Believes - God is good, just and merciful - The unity of God distinguishes Christianity from religions that believe in many gods - The Trinity distinguishes it from other Religions

  13. الآب يحب الإبن بالروح القدس The Father loves The Son through The Holy Spirit الاب يحب الابن و قد دفع كل شيء في يده (يو 3 : 35) "The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand (Joh 3 : 35) كل ما يصنعه الابن يصنعه الآب في الروح القدس Everything The Son does, The Father does in The Holy Spirit فقال لهم يسوع متى رفعتم ابن الانسان فحينئذ تفهمون اني انا هو و لست افعل شيئا من نفسي بل اتكلم بهذا كما علمني ابي (يو 8 : 28) Then Jesus said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am [He,] and [that] I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things (Joh 8 : 28)

  17. How does the Trinity affect us? We look at an icon of the Holy Trinity. It speaks of our own relationships with each other.

  18. How do we know God? Through the creation Through revelation: - First to the people of Israel - Then through sending His Son to be born a man (the Incarnation), thus revealing God in human flesh Through Believing: It is not enough to know about God, we need a relationship with God, however We can never know God fully.

  19. God’s Love • Is free and creative • Is immeasurable and unconditional • Is unselfish • Is forgiving • Is personal • Is caring and provides for all our needs • Respects our freedom • Teaches us • Is just • Is humble and sacrificial.

The Standards of The New Love مقاييس الحب الجديد و اعطيكم قلبا جديدا و اجعل روحا جديدة في داخلكم و انزع قلب الحجر من لحمكم و اعطيكم قلب لحم (حز 36 : 26) A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. The Love of People (The Service) حب الناس (الخدمة) ان قال احد اني احب الله و ابغض اخاه فهو كاذب لان من لا يحب اخاه الذي ابصره كيف يقدر ان يحب الله الذي لم يبصره (1يو 4 : 20) If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? (1Jo 4 : 20)

  28. The Longing for Heaven الاشتياق للسماء فاني محصور من الاثنين لي اشتهاء ان انطلق و اكون مع المسيح ذاك افضل جدا.و لكن ان ابقى في الجسد الزم من اجلكم.
