“Christian life is lived out according to the “law of the Spirit” that leads us to do things through attraction and not constraint, through love and not fear, joyfully and Spontaneously. People have a personal experience of the Holy Spirit, of his anointing in prayer, of his consolation during trials, of his guidance in their decisions. They experience joy in praising God, and their minds are open to understand Scripture. All of these things are effects of the interior sanctifying action of the Holy Spirit.” Cantalamessa OFM CAP
Questions • What struck you in the talk tonight? • Why do we continually invite the Spirit to come in us? • How has the Spirit influenced your life? Since the class? • What gifts of the Spirit would you like and why? • Do you agree with Father Cantalamessa? Have you felt this way about the Holy Spirit? Why or why not?
Look over the list of the gifts of the Spirit, decide what gives you have been given (thank the Holy Spirit), and what gifts you would like to receive (pray for these this week.) Matthew 3:11 Mark 1:8 Luke 3:16 Acts 1:1-5 John 1:30 2 Tim. 4:7
Prayer Holy Spirit, I open the door of my heart to you; Come in and take up permanent residence in my life In Jesus’ name. Amen
