  2. Definition Lentigines, or its singular form, Lentigo, is a spot on the skin that is darker than the surrounding skin. It is more common on people of Caucasian descent or have fair skin.

  3. Causes • Chronic Sun Exposure • Age • Imbalance in melanin production • Heredity • Radiation Therapy

  4. Signs • Spots on areas exposed to the Sun • Spots that have either darker or lighter pigment.

  5. Symptoms • Appearance of darkened spots on the skin. • They do not itch or get irritated • Can be mildly elevated

  6. Treatments • Cryosurgery • Laser Surgery • Radiation Therapy • Biotherapy

  7. Prevention • Sunscreen can prevent lentigo from ever appearing.
