  2. Preview of the Week • The following slides are an overview of what students will be working on this week.

  3. Week of Vocabulary • Monday – Flashcard check in 11-20, word maps • Tuesday – • Wednesday – spelling pre-test unit 2, assign spelling story using all 20 words • Thursday – Collect vocabulary story • Friday – Unit 2 Spelling and Vocab Tests • The 5 Minute Study Strategy must be done EVERY night for homework. Not only will you master the process of the this strategy you will learn the words for Unit 2.

  4. Week of Reading • Monday – Quiz Drummer Boy, Complete pages 2 – 3 in packet • Tuesday – Posters of Elements of plot: in class complete by Friday and present • Wednesday – Test Drummer boy • Thursday – Complete plot element worksheet with partners • Friday – Teacher Guided corrections of plot elements, read related article, team discussion, presentation of teams’ collaborative presentation of elements of plot.

Week of writing • Monday – Finish Drummer Boy Paragraph • Tuesday – Quiz on subjects/predicates and functions of a sentence. • Wednesday – Quote of the week replaced with refelction journal worksheet, touch on 1,2,3,2,3,1 and 1,2,3,4,2,3,4,1 • Thursday – Test Subjects/predicates and function of sentences. • Friday – Prompt addressing partner reading of Drummer boy and non-fiction article

  6. Week of Grammar • Monday – Notes compound subject/predicate and functions of a sentence, GWB 53-54 • Tuesday – Quiz on Subjects and predicated, Review functions of sentences, notes in spiral and guided practice, assign workbook pages 97-100 (due Friday) • Wednesday – Work on assigned pages in class • Thursday – Test on both parts of a sentence and function of sentences • Friday – Turn in workbook pages 97-100

  8. Set Your WEEKLY Goal • Review last week. Think about positive accomplishments and some behavior you need to improve this week. Select a SPECIFIC goal for this week. • Select a SPECIFIC goal for this week. • Identify one action/behavior that needs to be changed to improve your performance this week. • Ask yourself: • How organized was I last week? • Did I get the grades I wanted to last week? • Did I get enough sleep? • Identify one action/behavior that needs to be changed to improve your performance this week. Write your personal goal on the left side of your assignment notebook. BE SPECIFIC!

  16. Reading (25 minutes) • Take out your Drummer Boy Packet • Review your work with your team. • Make sure assigned pages are completed • Put them away when finished • SSR if time allows

  23. Spelling • Unit 2 spelling pre-test • This is a traditional spelling test, words only Objective: demonstrate accurate spelling of all spelling words. Reveal successful application of the 5 Minute Study Strategy for the intent of memorization.
