Definition of Privacy-in-a-Suitcase Privacy-in-a-Suitcase can be used to educate non-profit groups, small businesses, and other constituencies about basic privacy principles and steps that they can take to protect their customers’/members’ personal information. Privacy-in-a-Suitcase is also suitable for use by in-house teams as a general introduction to privacy, to increase awareness. The “Suitcase” is composed of stand-alone modules that provide an overview of basic topics on privacy and security, including the rights and responsibilities of data controllers and data subjects. Most of the slides contain a script on the Notes pages. Links are given to sites that provide more depth and detail. So, go ahead and ask for time to present at your local Chamber meeting, Entrepreneur club, House of Worship, Merchant group, Senior or Teen center, or any other group you know that needs to understand Privacy better. With the Privacy-in-a-Suitcase and a few minutes of prep, you are ready to help people be better consumers and more aware citizens!
