  2. SharePoint - What is it? • SharePoint runs our new website • If you can use Word, you can use SharePoint • Allows a lot of new functionality • Internal deployment being considered

  3. How to access it • Open Internet Explorer • URL Bar: http://hrguava • From off campus: http://hrguava.colorado.edu • Not all functions work from off campus (yet) • Address will change once site goes live

  4. Create New Content • Navigate where you want your content created • Uses Ribbon Controls from Office • Changes saved as draft • Nothing goes live until it is approved

  5. Approval Process • Approver • To the Web • Contributor • Backup Approver

  6. Before you approve • Is content up to date? • Consistent writing style • Proofreading • Style Guide • Accessibility (ADA Requirements) • Links

  7. File Rollback • User can recover prior versions • Nothing is lost • Page recovery from delete requires administrator

  8. Sandbox • Place to learn and test • Publishing workflow is optional • Anyone can create / publish content • Not viewable to the world • Let’s put it to practice…
