ObjectSpace <ToolKit> update • New release of ObjectSpace <ToolKit> for: • RedHat6.1 with g++ 2.95.2 • Solaris7 with CC-5.1 • Supported library version: altstd.mt • Thread safe, Pthreads support • Compatible with the native C++ STD libraries • On Solaris7 the new STD with the std:: namespace • On Linux the standard STD • Compatible with Objectivity 6.0x platforms/compilers • Not compatible with Objy Persistent STL • Objy does not supports Persistent STL for Solaris7 • DB group recommends to switch to Objy Persistent Collections Marcin Nowak IT/DB
Location • New location in AFS: • /afs/cern.ch/sw/lhcxx/specific/redhat61/gcc-2.95.2/ObjectSpace/2.1.0.1/ToolKit • /afs/cern.ch/sw/lhcxx/specific/sun4x_57/CC-5.1/ObjectSpace/2.1.0.1/ToolKit • or, using the Anaphe environment: • $LHCXXTOP/specific/$PLATF/ ObjectSpace/2.1.0.1/ToolKit • Export versions as gtz files of the CERN installation are in: • $LHCXXTOP/export/$LHCXX_ARCH/ToolKit2.1.0.1_rh61_gcc-2.95.2.gtzToolKit2.1.0.1_sol7_CC5.1.gtz Marcin Nowak IT/DB
Versions & Maintenance • Current version number is 2.1.0.1 • Any modifications to the ToolKit will increase the last part of the number: • e.g: 2.1.0.2, 2.1.0.3 .... • Our maintenance contract has expired • the license allows to use the ToolKit indefinitely • The current ToolKit version is old • more difficult to port to new platforms • What next?
