  1. 1930’s Times Hindenburg Crash Shocks the Nation rope handing lines for the ground crew. About fifteen seconds later at 7:25 p.m. the airship exploded. Within seconds, there was an exploding sound. In a few more seconds, the entire airship was engulfed in flames and began to drop. This crash killed thirteen passengers, twenty –two crewmen, and one civilian ground handler. Finally, both natural cause arguments assume that there was some free hydrogen somewhere around the ship which caused it to explode. This was a horrible crash. With ninety-seven people on board, sixty-two amazingly survived. Out of every other airship disaster, the Hindenburg crash remains the most mysterious and controversial air crash to date. Yesterday, May 6, 1937, the German Hindenburg airship exploded in Lakehurst, New Jersey. The German Hindenburg airship was the largest to travel across the Atlantic Ocean. Hindenburg was used for passenger, mail, and freight transportation, mainly between Germany and the United States. However the trip fell short. A few minuets later at 7:08, the Hindenburg was spotted in Lakehurst, New Jersey. Eyewitnesses said the wind picked up and the airship made a sharp right turn heading north. At 7:21 the ship stopped moving and the crew men dropped the starboard

  2. 1930’s Times The Babe Ruth You Did Not Know! By 1930, he was paid $80,000 for a season for the Yankees; his advertisements income usually exceeded his annual income. His real name is George Ruth Herman Jr. He had 7 brothers and sisters. Babe Ruth began playing baseball at 7 years old. He learned how to play baseball at St. Mary’s Industrial School for Boys. 3. 1930’s Times Escape to the Movie The film is loved by many but it is also being criticized for being inaccurate and racist. Casting for the film was a very difficult task. Many actors trurn down the opportunity to be in the movie because they believed they could not meet the expectations. Finally, Thomas Mitchell and Vivien Leigh took on the lead roles. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was another box office hit that was released within the past five years. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was Walt Disney’s first animated film that remains a classic. This movie was a box office hit because the message is that every girl needs a “prince” to rescue her. The film was based on the German fairly tale by the Brothers Grimm. The actors who played snow white is Adriana Caselotti, Dopey was Eddie Collins, Sleepy was Pinto Colvig,Sneezy was Billy Gilbert, Happy was Otis Harlan, Bashful was Scotty Mattraw, Grumpy was Pinto Colvig, and Doc was Roy Atwell. This movie proved animated features could be done and paved the way for later Disney films The Wizard of Oz was released last week. The film was made during the heyday of the studio system and the golden era of MGM. The actors who played Dorothy were Judy Garland, the Scarecrow was Ray Bolger, the Tin Man was Jack Heley, and the Cowardly Lion were Bert Lahr. The reason they put this out in theater was because the message illustrated was there is “no place like home” and that you have the power to achieve what your most desire. Each character had a different desire like Dorothy is to go home; for the scarecrow, a brain; for the tin man, a heart; and for the cowardly lion, courage. The movie, Gone with the Wind received popularity after it was released last year. The movie was based on the novel that took place in Georgia during the Civil War-era. The novel is a romance book.
