Faculty of Management and Economics UTB Undergraduate Study of the Topics Relevant for LEFIS
Our topics generally: Application of Computing Methods in Law • The topics contain mainly: • general problems of application of scientific esp exact methodology in the area of law, the role and limits of formalization and exactization • 2) basic knowledge of logic and its application in law
3) basic knowledge of some mathematical disciplines ( numeric mathematics, mathematical analysis, theory of probability , statistics, theory of graphs , linear algebra – linear programming ..,) applicable in law basic knowledge of cybernetics, system theory, cybernetic and dialectic system approach ,computer science retrieval information systems in law legal AI systems : logical factographical systems, neuronal network methods exact computing methods applicable in the law (norm)- making process application of exact methods in the area of application of law –in legal decision- making
Relevance for management and economy: The most of the relations and activities of management and economy are regulated by legal norms, and sub-legal norms : statutes, technical norms etc( see Appendix). Thus the relevance of these topics, subject of LEFIS for managers and economists is obviousFrom the point of view of the teaching of the mentioned subject the economic and managerial faculties have advantage in comparison with classical law faculties because they need for other courses higher knowledge in mathematics and students are accepted and chosen according these needs.
Degree profile: The study has two degrees: Bc (bachelor) - 2 years The our topics are taught in the framework of different courses ( computer technology, mathematics, law, management, marketing) topics 1 – 4 above. Magister ( engineer) degree - 3 years They are taught in the framework of different courses ( management and marketing II., international management and marketing, international trade, quantitative methods) the topics 5 – 7 above. In the last year in the synthetizing course of the study the all above mentioned topics are systematically and deeper taught. .
Typical occupation: as managers, economists, financial experts, in the state administration Role of subject area in different degree programmes: In the all specializations at the faculty i.e: management, enterprise economy, finance, the our subject area is taught practically in the same scope.
Learning outcome and competence according to different levels: See above : the first Bc level : the topics 1 - 4 ---- on the basic- minimum level of knowledge the Magister level: the topics 1 – 7 -----a good (and/or pactically sufficient) level of knowledge
Workload-credits: Roughly our subject represents 6 credits. If we count the all courses devoted to computer, exact methods etc. that at the same time represent background of good legal informatics- legal computing in law,but they are also necessary for other courses of faculty, together the workload represents 20 credits.
Appendix 2 The primal and simplest relation in ME is a relation between two subjects: the seller ( S ) and the buyer ( B), their structured values, interests , features etc. are depicted by the structured oblongs. The subject of exchange will be marked as (G) =goods, its various properties are marked by a structured circle around G.
