AcRoCorot with Corot (Stellar)Activity Rotation After LoI and 1sr Corot Brasil meeting, a need for people with similar scientific interest to gather and organize particularly many interests in getting Corot data to study rotation and stellar activity AOJuly 05+ Selection (Sept 05): over 45 proposals, 28 accepted out of which: 10 at least concern AcRoCorot 2nd CoRoT Brazil Workshop Ubatuba, November 2005
AcRoCoRoT 8 4 Asteroseismologocal determination of stellar rotation axes L. Gizon PMS stars as active, often fast rotating stars: 1 PMS star instability strip C. Catala 2 34 PMS stars in open cluster: Dolidze 25 V. Ripepi 2nd CoRoT Brazil Workshop Ubatuba, November 2005
Questions such as (poster #6 Del Peloso) What physical processes control the behavior of rotation during stellar evolution from PMS to PostMS Giants? How does magnetic breaking affect rotation ? What physical processes control the generation of magnetic field? What type(s) of dynamo is at play in stellar interiors? Do we correctly understand and model surface structures such as spots and stellar granulation ? What is the exact nature of the interplay between rotation, convection and activity ? 2nd CoRoT Brazil Workshop Ubatuba, November 2005
AcRoCorot objectives : be ready when data come to use them efficiently hence organisation of meetings such as the present one to motivate - teams with similar interest to continue to meet and talk (collaboration, exchange of brain thinkings and tools) - teams with accepted proposal to work it out in more details * feasibility (observational requirements- adopted techniques) * lists of target stars 2nd CoRoT Brazil Workshop Ubatuba, November 2005
