Membership • www.awis.org • Click “join now” under Membership Services • Click “Student: $25.00 Annual Membership Fee” • Complete the Form • Choose “Penn State” when asked what chapter
Penn State Chapter Membership Requirements • Join AWIS and pay both national and chapter dues • $30 total all paid online • Participate on at least 1 committee • Fundraising, THON, SWIS, Volunteering • Earn at least 15 points a semester • Award at the end of the semester for the member with the most points!
Another reason to join…. • Leadership Positions • Looks good on resumes!! • We need a new publicity chair for this semester • If interested, see Brittany after the meeting **Also, officer positions will be open after this semester, so get involved!
Upcoming Fundraisers • Football Raffle – Tickets are $2/each • 1 sheet = 10 tickets = $20 • Money/unsold tickets due @ Oct 21 meeting and winner will be pulled • Sat, Aug 29th CAR WASH 11am-4pm (Advanced Auto Parts on Atherton) • 11-1:30 and 1:30-4 shift – sign up sheet • Meet behind Osmond in parking lot for ride • Bring an old towel to dry if you can

Our float and madhatter got first place last year, we need your help to do it again! Our float Madhatter We will be having a brainstorming meeting in the next couple of weeks to come up with t-shirts, float, and banner designs, along with ideas for the carnival. Keep a look out for an email

What is THON? • Largest student run philanthropy in the nation • Last year we raised $7.5 million for the kids! How you can help… Must be an active member Must attend committee meetings To be a dancer: must go on canning trips, fundraise, and promote THON.
