  1. Information & Management Analysis Systems, LLC.TIMAS Database Serving Intellectual Disability Agencies Since 1989 “Your Data, Your Way”

  2. History of the TIMAS Database Initiated 1989 in East Tennessee The TIMAS database was among the first in the United States to address the need for e-documentation strategies for community providers who serve people with “Intellectual Disabilities.”

  3. History of the TIMAS Database In addition to tracking seizures, accidents, behaviors, and incidents, the electronic health record (EHR) was added in 1991 to include medication and a wide range of health related information.

  4. History of the TIMAS Database • In the early 1990s, a Human Resources module was added that also tracked employee training needs and benefits. • By 1994, extensive trend analyses had been added to assist in meeting standards for national accreditation.

  5. History of the TIMAS Database By 1998, the concept of “Power Integration Design” had become an important core feature in the basic module design of the software.

  6. History of the TIMAS Database From 2000 through 2012, there have been more than 500 upgrade versions of the database.

  7. “What We Have Learned in 23 Years”

  8. “What We Have Learned in 23 Years” Many things that sound good in the design room simply do not work at the service-provision level.

  9. “What We Have Learned in 23 Years” • Complicated never works. • The most difficult part of database design is the challenge of keeping the features of the system simple, and therefore usable. • Development never ends.

  10. “What We Have Learned in 23 Years” • The system of the future is not one that has arrived, but one that can ‘morph’ into a diversity of ‘cultural-driven’ methods that improve our quality of services. • The future of e-documentation will be in systems that can operate in a variety of milieu, such I-Pads, Win-Tablets, Smart-Phones, Net-Books, etc.

  11. “What We Have Learned in 23 Years” • Security is critical. • SQL server-based intranet systems give added security above products that are browser-based only. • 501(C)3 non-profit agencies can save significant costs on web links such as techsoup.com.

  12. “What We Have Learned in 23 Years” • It takes about 2 years to fully transition from paper-driven systems to electronic documentation strategies. • By 2020, most if not all providers will be using “Electronic-Driven” systems.

  13. “What makes TIMAS Unique?” • TIMAS is ‘State-Specific’ and advocates for provider agencies. • We are unwilling to contract with State entities that do not allow providers to maintain ownership and control of their data.

  14. “What makes TIMAS Unique?” • We are number one in training and ongoing support in database software for provider agencies. No other company comes close. • We are quality-one in ‘power integration design.’ • The majority of our revenue is reinvested in ‘on-going development and support’ of e-documentation strategies.

  15. “What makes TIMAS Unique?” • TIMAS is the most comprehensive database for provider agencies who serve people with intellectual disabilities. • Our secret is ‘customer service and relentless pursuit of software quality.’

  16. “Benefits to Community Providers” • The ability to have“Real-Time” information will make the services provided more efficient that it has ever been. • It provides proficient financial monitoring and effective planning for the future. • Fundamentally, TIMAS helps you to improve quality, increase revenue, and decrease expenses.
