Objectives • WP4 involvement on GISELA objectives • 1. “Ensure the sustainability of the EU-LA e-Infrastructure” • 1.1. “Establish a powerful e-Infrastructure facility built on the EELA-2 legacy” • Implement the catchall Grid Support Centre (GSC) • Implement a Grid Operations Centre (GOC) • Setup and operate the e-Infrastructure following the best practices recommended by EGI
Objectives - catchall GSC • Handles site integration and support for countries with no NGI in place via ROC IGALC (http://www.igalc.org/) • Operates the prod.vo.eu-eela.eu VO • Every site on the e-Infrastructure has it configured • Monitoring system • Ticket submitting and following-up • Compliance with WP3 requests on specific support • Handles operations of IGALC sites
Objectives - GOCs • Handle site integration and support within the countries (Colombia and Mexico) • Handle operations of sites within their countries (via ROC_LA in Colombia and Mexico) • Colombian sites soon to be moved to its NGI • Mexican GOC is acting as a seed for a future NGI
Objectives - e-Infrastructure setup • The EGI GISELA* Resource Provider MoU • enables common procedures • grants GISELA access to EGI tools • promotes GISELA as an EGI certified Infrastructure provider • The GSC ensures that • Availability metrics are enforced • Ticket resolution times are minimised • GISELA profits from the already in place EGI procedures * signed by UFRJ on behalf of the GISELA consortium
WP4 Numbers • Cumulative GISELA contribution per site (normalised CPU hours)
WP4 Numbers • Contribution breakdown at M11 EU LA
WP4 Numbers • Ticket resolution time distribution • 114 total tickets • more than 50% solved in 3 days or less • more than 75% solved in 7 days or less • Average resolution time: 5 days Average resolution time
WP4 Numbers • CPU cores integration Year 1 Year 2 Pledge
WP4 Numbers • “Extra” resources for the prod.vo.eu-eela.eu VO
WP4 Numbers • e-Infrastructure availability
Outline • Work Package Objectives • WP4 numbers • Success Thresholds • Future plans and conclusions
Outline • Work Package Objectives • WP4 numbers • Success Thresholds • Future plans and conclusions
Plans for the second year • Keep integrating the resources as they are made available • Deploy the third GOC - current candidates are Argentina and Brazil • Assist the handover to CLARA in March, 2012 • Maintain quality support to WP3 specific community requests • Help to increase the average availability to meet Year 2 thresholds
Conclusions • GSC and GOCs - working as intended • Operations - working as intended • Resources integration - slower than foreseen, but still moving • Non-partner sites supply the missing resources from the consortium
