What is Scan Disk? • SCANDISK or ScanDiskis a utility in MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows systems which checks and repairs file systems and bad clusters on the hard drive. • It was introduced in MS-DOS version 6.2. Previous versions of MS-DOS supplied only the simpler, purely text-based program CHKDSK.

  4. What is its purpose? • The purpose of Scan Disk Program is to check your hard disk for errors and to correct problems that are found.

  5. How to install scan disk? • You don’t have to install the scan disk software. They are pre-installed with every Microsoft Windows system.

  6. How to use Scan Disk? Click the Tools tab, and then, under Error-checking, click Check Now.   Click Start. First, Open Computer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Computer. Right-click the hard disk drive that you want to check, and then click Properties.

  7. Why we choose this program? • Because this program is very reliable and fast to use. It is also free to use, so there are no point to not choosing it!

  8. Advantages and disadvantages • Advantages: 1. It is free. 2. It can clean your disk really fast. 3.It is from Microsoft company, thus it’s is very reliable. 4.It has no risk and is being constantly updated for better scanning and safety. • Disadvantages: The only disadvantage is, you have to close all programs in the disk on order to use ScanDisk.
