  1. Why Camp? Through a variety of experiences, the children will develop essential skills and attitudes that will help prepare them for challenges that they will encounter throughout their lives. The camp will focus on 4 main features: Team Building Physical Challenges Personal Achievements Links with our Units of Inquiry

Overview Day One • 9am Depart DC • Arrive MuiWo • Students need to have a packed lunch with them. • 11.00 – 4.45 - Group A – Ark Eden • 11.00 – 4.45 - Group B – Rotation of activities: Rafting/Art/Orienteering/Ropes Course • Dinner – Set menu from camp provider • Drama Practice and Camp Fire • 9.00 – 9.45 – Get ready for bed and lights out

  3. Day Two • 7:00am - Wake up • 7:00am - Breakfast • 9.00 – 10.30 - Trust Games (Rotation, 3X30) • Group B – Ark Eden • Group A – Rotation Activities • 6.00 – 7.00 - Dinner – BBQ – Silvermine Bay Beach • Drama Presentations • 9.00 – 9.45 - Bed and lights out

  4. Day Three • 7:00am - Wake up • 7.30am - Breakfast • 8.00 – 9.00 - Clean Up and Packing • 9.00 – 11.00 Big Challenge (House Groups) • 12.00 -1.00 – Lunch • 1.30 – Depart MuiWo by bus • 2.30 – Arrive in School

Camp Activities: • We have chosen age appropriate activities conducted indoors and outdoors, that include, team games, sports and craft activities. • All activities have been set up with safety and enjoyment as a central focus. • Children will be in groups of 11 and will be rotated through various activities. • Links to Learner Profiles (PYP) particularly: risk-taker, caring (supportive), open minded.

  7. Important Camp Information • Food - Children are to take their own disposable lunch and snack on the first day • School hats must be worn (labelled) • No mobile phones to be taken by the children • No sweets, snacks, electronic games • All bedding is supplied. • Packing (try to put in one suitcase on wheels or one day pack that they can carry from the bus to the site)

  8. Security and Supervision • Security gates are locked in the evening. • The accompanying staff are: Year 4 Teachers Damien Barry Charlotte Mortimer Martin DeBarr Senior Management Phillipa Beeson Other staff: Andy Munn Paddy Watson Patrice Valere Frank Donnoli Ada Chung Wilson Chow Susan Peng Merry Sugiarto

  9. Pick up/ Drop off System: • Drop off (8.30 am - 8.45 am) - children to assemble near their classroom teacher in Primary Sports Hall • Pick up (2.30 pm -3.15pm) – Please sign out your child with their class teacher at the Primary Sports Hall • Children to assemble around classroom teacher

  10. Cost Breakdown for Discovery College Y4 •Staffing includes full-time, part-time, specialists and consultants •Accommodation •Transportation includes bus expenses to and from venue •Food includes dining in on-site restaurant, BBQ, snacks and water •Equipment includes life jackets, games, art materials, rafting materials, BBQ materials
