Role of your Trustees • Take initiative – generate ideas • Participate, including direct communication with donors • Understand that fund development is all about cultivating and maintaining relationships. It’s very personal. • Contribute names and review those names brought at committee/staff meetings, and think about a strategy to reach out to them. • Identify potential corporate donors
Influence potential donors towards your organisation, help make personal introductions • Host lunches, dinners etc – where personal relationships can be cultivated. • Write thank-you notes to donors. • Make a personal donation according to their ability. • Accompany staff on donor/client visits

FD Committee responsibility • To act as champions and advocates on behalf of the organisation in order to support the endowment challenge • To help with the creative thinking around fund development • To use their local knowledge and networking to provide introductions to local potential donors. • To provide information and intelligence on events and people within the county. NB This committee has no legal responsibilities for the organisation, this rests with the Trustees.
