English project about Friends Teacher name Riyad Abu Arra 8th grade
in this project , which is name "Friendship", By the end of this unit , I want my students to understand & achieve this big idea. • Big idea: • Students will be able to explain what it means to be a friend and to have friends. • They will understand the importance of friendship and how to be a good friend
What is friendship? • Essential questions: • 1. What do you like about your friends? • 2. Why are friendships so important to us? • 3. What are the qualities of a good friend? • Discuss: There's an old saying that goes "in order to have good friends you have to be a good friend." • What does that mean? • Do you think it's true
Skills: • I want to improve my students’ skills and their critical thinking about: • • Good friends listen to each other. • • Good friends don't put each other down or hurt each other's feelings. • • Good friends try to understand each other's feelings and moods. • • Good friends help each other solve problems. • • Good friends respect each other..
Procedures that help students to improve their critical thinking: • 1. When you see someone you think you'd like to become friends with, what are some good ways to initiate things? • Brainstorm this and make a list. • 2. You find out your friend has been telling stories about you that aren't true. • 3. Your friend keeps saying or doing something that hurts your feelings

5.Product: You need to create a brochure that describes a good friend and a bad friend
6.Standards: I will watch how they implement what I asked them to do, and assess their work A, B,C accordingly
