Starter • (Nazis; Warning from History) • Study source A p. 88 (NTB) under the visualiser. What does it tell us about Nazi racial policy? • Read p.89 (NTB) under the visualiser. Then complete the activity on resource sheet 3.3b. Use the words Herrenvolk, Untermenschen, scapegoat and anti-semitism.
Main 1 • Students use p.90 to study 4 types of Untermenschen (Jews – largest group - to be studied in detail one their own). Students construct a method of showing similarities and differences in how each was treated 1933 – 45. • LC – Visualiser and use p.91 (NTB)
Homework • Use p. 91 (NTB) and yellow boxes on p.106 & 109 (OTB) to indicate the main measures against the Jews 1933-9. Do this on a timeline (FFT C-) or add to your ‘intensity of persecution’ graph (FFT B+). FFT A to devise a method of classification (e.g. separation, violence etc.)
