NEEO suggestion. Hi Andy and Patrick , bear with me here. In this document I’m trying to share with you my view of opportunities to improve NEEO by better matching the needs that I (at least ) have. Bill Kaczmarek, Oct 25, 2017 By the way, I refer generically to my devices.

NEEO suggestion Hi Andy and Patrick, bear with me here. In this document I’m trying to share with you my view of opportunities to improve NEEO by better matching the needs that I (at least ) have. Bill Kaczmarek, Oct 25, 2017 By the way, I refer generically to my devices. They are in fact: AVR: Denon AVR-391 DVD: Toshiba SD-3109 TV: Panasonic TC-P42G25
Scheme for setting up NEEO OK. Here are a variety of activities. Some are very low priority, but are useful to illustrate my view of what is needed from NEEO. • Activities list: • Watch DVD • Watch TV (antenna) • Watch Internet (VieraCast) • Watch Internet (ChromeCast) • Listen to Internet (ChromeCast Audio) • Listen to Radio (antenna) • VideoMeeting (VieraLink)
Scheme for setting up NEEO Device- Fact: • DVD (TV, AVR) • TV (AVR) • TV (AVR) • Phone (ChromeCast, TV, AVR) • Phone (ChromeCast Audio, AVR) • AVR • TV, Camera (AVR) Device- Recipe: • DVD • TV -should be “TV antenna” • [dummy] - s/b “TV VieraCast” • ChromeCast • [dummy] – s/b “AVR Dock” (2nd choice is “ChromeCast Audio” • AVR or [dummy] – s/b “AVR Tuner” • TV or [dummy] – s/b “TV VieraLink” The parts of each… Activity: • Watch DVD • Watch TV (antenna) • Watch Internet (VieraCast) • Watch Internet (ChromeCast) • Listen to Internet (ChromeCast Audio) • Listen to Radio (antenna) • VideoMeeting (VieraLink) In other words… • For the same physical device, use multiple recipe-devices in NEEO (rather than using dummy devices for recipes) e.g. for the one TV, offer three devices: • “Panasonic TV as TV” • “Panasonic TV as VieraCast” • “Panasonic TV as VieraLink” and, for the Denon AVR, offer: • “Denon AVR as Tuner” • “Denon AVR as hidden background device” • The benefit is that, by using multiple recipe-devices for the same physical device, you can then offer the appropriate control pad, delay and shortcuts suited for each particular use of the device.
