VIDEO FILEs • VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS. • .VOB files contain video and audio data, not to mention subtitles, etc. Numbered in sequence, frequently about 1G in size. • .IFO files contain information about the .VOB sequences (chapter headers, etc) • .BUP files are backups of the .IFO files. • The VIDEO_TS, IFO and .VOB files usually contain menu(s)

Video Inputs • Common Video Files Extensions • *.VOB Video Object • *.ISO A literal dump of the data on the CD, byte-for-byte. The data is storedin the ISO-9660 format. IsoBuster can create these files as well. *.IFO An info file associated with a .VRO video file. The .VRO file contains the video stream and the .IFO file contains various scene and timing information. This is different form a .VOB file where that information is included in the file. Several manufacturers use .VRO/.IFO files. If present, the file VIDEO_TS.IFO consists of control and playback information for the entire DVD. VIDEO_TS.IFO is known as VMGI (The Video Manager Information file). This file is required to be present on a DVD-compliant disc • *.MPG Contains the actually video/audio stream. Maybe one of several standards ( MPEG1 or MPEG2), which may not be DVD compliant. • Other Common extensions for conversion (*.avi ,*.mov, *.jpeg)
