Monday, September 9th • Respond to the following in the NOVEL section of your journal: • It’s the evening of September 8, 1900, and you are trapped on Galveston Island while the hurricane powerfully ravages everything in sight. The storm is in full force, and you decide to document the events in your journal. Explain where you are and describe the weather conditions there—the wind, rainfall, water levels, temperature, etc. What amazing sights have you seen during the storm? How do you feel about what’s going on? Do you think you’ll survive? Why or why not? USE TEXT ICONS WHEN RESPONDING: TALKING, THINKING, SEEING, DOING!
