  2. Contents: • The introductory information about summer camps. • The 1st camps in Russia. • The big variety of camps and summer programs in USA and Canada. • The structure of a camp and its organization. • The leader staff (Pedagogical stuff).

  3. Sport and fitness All conditions for children's physical activities are included: Various sports events, bathing, and training. A diet including fresh vegetables and fruit.

  4. Aesthetic and general education Different opportunities: to broaden outlook and erudition; to apply musical, arts and drama gifts;

  5. Clubs system Different kinds of activities are put into effect through different clubs: • drawing and dancing, • singing (pop and folk songs), • drama: poetry and plays, • sports: different physical exercises and competitions • library

  6. The first camps in Russia In the USSR, the first camps were created shortly after its establishment and were called Young Pioneer camps during the Soviet Union’s existence. After the breakup of the USSR, the number of Young Pioneer camps greatly declined. However, many of the major camps still exist.

The leader-staff (Pedagogical staff) The head of the camp Pedagogical staff: -The main leader - Cabin leaders (according to the number of the “cabins” or “units”) -psychologists Technical stuff: -Medical staff (a doctor, a nurse) -Kitchen workers (chief, confectioner, a person who wash dishes) - Cloak-room attendant -A bus driver - A care-taker -Security
