However, they don’t use toilet paper after toilet. They use left hand, and wash it with water after toilet. So they only use right hand for eating and hand shaking. It is impolite to eat and greet someone India with left hand
Greeting Etiquette Beside shaking hands, People in India often greeting with putting two hands together like a prayer. The hands have to hold them almost near the face. They also bow to the elders. When they bow to the elders, they often touch elder’s feet to be respectful. However, in India, do not hold hands and bow at the same time, it will look awkward to them
Etiquette in the family People in India consider whistle to someone is impolite, and an un-educated behavior. When they wash their kids or babies, they don’t put them in the tub,. They think the water inside the tub is “dead water”. It will bring bad luck to the kids. When the husband has to travel outside, he will touch or kiss the wife’s feet to say goodbye.
