  2. Introduction • 高效率白光LED被業界譽為下世代車用照明之主流，且已大量使用在彩色手機及各類PDA產品中 • 在未來也將被運用於LCD背光板、汽車內外照明及一般照明等。 • 現今全球各國車廠均看重車用LED技術之潛力，皆已投入大型研發計劃。

  3. GaN based LED • 氮化鎵是一種重要的短波長發光二極體材料。 • 低發熱型發光二極體的電極需具備 • 低特徵接觸阻抗 • 高光穿透率 p-type electrodes n-type electrodes p-GaN InGaN/GaN MQW n-GaN Buffer layer 。 InN sapphire

  4. LED車輛照明 • 目前最成功的 GaN 元件有高亮度藍光及綠光 LED，因 GaN 高亮度藍光、綠光 LED 的開發成功 • 各種 LED 的應用也更加廣泛。 以高亮度藍光 LED 激發螢光物質（phospher）可以產生白光，其低耗電及高壽命的特性，未來將取代一般照明用的白熾燈泡，應用於車輛照明 • 可見 GaN LED 的市場潛力十分雄厚。同時白光 LED 應用於照明較現行光源壽命提高 5 倍以上，可充分解決廢棄登管之含汞環保問題，故白光 LED 為一無污染之環保光源。

  5. LED車輛照明 • 車外光源主要包括汽車 • 前車燈、 • 霧燈， • 以及剎車燈、 • 方向燈、 • 車尾燈、 • 牌照燈、裝飾燈、狀態燈 • 第三煞車燈等。(第三煞車燈為最常見使用高亮度LED的汽車光源 )
