Three Terms to Remember: • ethos. how a speaker establishes himself or herself as being trustworthy as seen by the audience. • logos. theories of argument and persuasion, the content and logic of a speech. • pathos. the emotional content of a speech-both contained in the speech and contained in the speaker.
