Differences & Similarities From Dressage and Hunt Seat • Ride one handed • Free hand stays square with the other hand with elbow bent • Longer stirrups than Hunt Seat • Sit more on your seat bones than your pelvic bone (sit straight up instead of forward) • No posting ever (always sitting trot) • Equitation still same as far as square shoulders, sitting tall, chin up, legs correct. • Terms: • Jog = trot (supposed to be slower) • Lope = canter (supposed to be slower)
