  2. Despite the existence of several energy grants, energy bills remain a challenge across households in the UK, especially in England. To grapple with this situation, the UK government is all set to launch the Warm Homes: Local Grant. It will be open for delivery on 1st April 2025 and is expected to run for three to five years. This grant programme is part of the government’s broader Warm Home plans, which are anticipated to tackle fuel poverty and support decarbonising homes. The programme focuses on reducing carbon emissions and energy costs whilst enhancing living standards, especially in areas like London and Essex. It will replace the previous Home Upgrant Grant and Local Authority Delivery programmes. Here’s everything you need to know about this scheme. Who Benefits From This Scheme? Residents of England, including those living in Essex and London, can apply for the grant if they meet the following criteria: •Low income or receive certain benefits •Landlord or tenant demonstrating eligibility •Live in a home with a poor energy efficiency rating (Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) between D and G)
