  1. 7 TIPS FOR CHEERLEADING BEGINNERS The meaning of cheerleading extends far beyond waving cheer poms and spelling out your team's name while bouncing up and down. In order to put on an impressive performance, cheerleaders must be fit, agile, confident, and enthusiastic. Here are some tips that help you to boost your cheerleading passion. Stretching The best cheerleaders have flexibility and suppleness similar to gymnasts. You should stretch every day to maintain your flexibility. Keep Smiling Even if their team loses, a good cheerleader will be smiling. No matter how bad your team performs or how challenging the stunt is, remember to smile. Cheer On The Move Cheerleaders must make the most of their pipes to be successful. You need to practice cheering during your routines - it is more difficult than you think. Prepare For Crowd Practicing your moves in front of family and friends can familiarize you with watching. After your first practice, you will be more accustomed to performing in front of an audience. Avoid Risky Moves Don’t do anything you are not comfortable with. A good coach will not expect you to do anything they don’t think you are capable of pulling off. WAIVER Signed Waivers As cheerleading is a dangerous sport, ensure you have all the necessary paperwork in place. Before participating, you will be required to fill out a waiver and permission form. Don’t Be Nervous Remember, cheerleading is first and foremost meant to be fun. Make sure if you make a mistake you just continue to move forward and always keep going.
