THE Psychological impact Of colors on Human beings
It is the element of art that is produced when light, striking an object, is reflected back to the eye. They have a psychological impact on human being’s moods. Every color has its impact on us which affect us mentally as well as physically.
RED COLOUR • Red is the colour of fire and blood. • It is the expression of passion, war and movement. It is the warm colour. • It affects us in following ways- - love • Aggression • Boldness • Cheerfulness • Energy • It gives warmth and hospitality
YELLOW COLOUR Yellow shines with optimism, enlightenment, and happiness. Shades of golden yellow carry the promise of a positive future. Yellow will advance from surrounding colors and instill optimism and energy, as well as spark creative thoughts. Yellow affects us mentally and physically* Mentally stimulating* Stimulates the nervous system* Activates memory* Encourages communication
BLUE • Blue is the colour of clear sky and deep water. It is overwhelming "favorite color." Blue is seen as trustworthy, dependable and committed. The color of sky and the ocean, blue is perceived as a constant in our lives. • Blue affects us physically and mentally • Calming • Peaceful • Cooling • Loyality
It has a healing effect in cases of high blood pressure, asthma, migraines and itis an excellent anti-stress remedy.
Green colour • Green color is the colour of freshness grass, leaves, vegetables etc. • It has its own healing power over the human being. • The affect of green colors are:- • Refreshing • Soothing • Relaxing • Calming • And improve vision
PINK colour Brighter pinks are youthful, fun, and exciting, while vibrant pinks have the same high energy as red; they are sensual and passionate without being too aggressive. Toning down the passion of red with the purity of white results in the softer pinks that are associated with romance and the blush of a young woman's cheeks. PINK AFFECTS US PHYSICALLY Bright pinks, like the color red, stimulate energy and can increase the blood pressure, respiration, heartbeat, and pulse rate. They also encourage action and confidence. Pink has been used in prison holding cells to effectively reduce erratic behavior.
Purple colour • Purple colour is the secondary colour. Which possess quite opposite characteristics and when mixed conceal each others effect. • Purple colour suggests – • Mistry • Dignity • Reflection • Morning and Twilight • Offers a sense of sprituality • Uplifting • Encourages creativity
BROWN Brown says stability, reliability, and approachability. It is the color of our earth and is associated with all things natural or organic. How the color brown affects us physically and mentally* Feeling of wholesomeness* Stability* Connection with the earth* Offers a sense orderliness
WHITE colour White projects purity, cleanliness, and neutrality. Doctors white coats, brides traditionally were white gowns and a white picket fence surrounds a safe and happy home. White affects us mentally and physically* aids mental clarity* encourages us to clear clutter or obstacles* evokes purification of thoughts or actions* enables fresh beginnings
Grey colour Gray is timeless, practical, and solid. A longstanding favorite suit color, gray can mix well with any color. People rarely name gray as a favorite color possibly because Gray also is associated with loss or depression. Gray affects us physically and mentally* unsettling* expectant
Black colour Black is authoritative and powerful; because black can evoke strong emotions. A classic color for clothing possibly because it makes the wearer appear thinner and more sophisticated. Black affects us physically and mentally* feeling inconspicuous* a restful emptiness* mysterious evoking a sense of potential and possibility.
