COLLEGES IN UT , CHANDIGARH • 09 GovernmentColleges and 07 Government Private Aided Colleges(Commerce, Business Management, Science, Arts, Physical Education, Home Science and Teacher Education) both at the UG & PG. Total numbers of sanctioned seats at entry level : 15460 Total numbers of students enrolled : 47326 Total numbers of male students : 18325 Total numbers of female students : 29001 • 18 approved Research Centreshave been established in the area of (Life Sciences, Performing Arts, Commerce , English, Chemical , Education and Physical Sciences) for strengthening the Research Orientation in UT , Colleges .

STRENGTH OF UT COLLEGES • State –of-the-Art Infrastructure • Computerized Library • Online Admission Procedure • Student participation in Co-Curricular & Cultural activities • All Colleges accredited by NAAC, Bangalore • Gross Enrolment Ratio(GER) highest in India (56.4 %) • Solar Power Plants • Automation of Administrative and Academic facilities • Facilities for Divyaang Students • Counselling and Mentoring facility • Unity in Diversity (Students from 16 States) • Community Outreach Activities • Rain Harvesting and Tertiary Water System

  7. GROSS ENROLMENT RATIO ( GER ) • Chandigarh has the highest GER in Higher Education among all States and Union Territories in India . • GER of Chandigarh is 56.4 % against National GER of 25.8%. (All India Survey on Higher Education report 2017-2018) • GER (women) in Chandigarh is 67.7 % against National GER (women) of 25.4 %, which is highest in India.

  8. STATUS OF INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT UNDER RUSA PHASE 1.0 AS ON 31.03.2019 • Total Allocation : 1500.00 lac • Total Expenditure : 1425.76 lac • Total Balance : 74.24 lac • Percentage utilization : 95.05%

  9. STATUS OF INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT UNDER RUSA PHASE 2.0 AS ON 31.03.2019 • Total Allocation : 400.00 lac • Total Expenditure : 248.62 lac • Total Balance : 151.38 lac • Percentage utilization : 62.15 %

  10. FUND TRACKER STATUS • Ten colleges of UT, Chandigarh received infrastructure grant under RUSA 1.0 • Four colleges received infrastructure grant under RUSA 2.0. • All fourteen colleges are updating Fund Tracker regularly. • Panjab University received funds under: Equity Initiatives and Faculty Improvements • Panjab University updating Fund Tracker with respect to both the components.

  11. NATIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION RESOURCE CENTRE ( NHERC)MIS STATUS • All RUSA funded colleges of UT, Chandigarh have filled 100% of all NHERC MIS forms. • Panjab university has updated information 100% in ‘Institute Data’ forms and 89.92% in ‘Institute level changes’ forms .

E-Governance for Project Monitoring by way of Management Information System (MIS) • As one of the mandatory requirement of RashtriyaUchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Chandigarh established Management Information System (MIS) which integrates all the information from all the institutions and to provide necessary aid to decision making authorities in state as well as encouraging cooperative decision making. • This system also integrates other services of Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) like fund tracking and Geo-tagging on the single platform for the convenience of SHEC, SPD and RUSA funded institutions . • MIS has improved project monitoring to great extent thus improving transparency and accountability in execution of projects to great extent.

  14. PARTICIPATION IN NATIONAL ENDEAVOUR • Digital Financial Literacy Campaign, VittyaSakshartaAbhiyan (VISAKA) Govt. College of Commerce and Business Administration -50 honoured by MHRD ,2017. • Two colleges ranked at 41 and 74 PG Govt. College for Girls, Sector -42 and SD College ,Sector-32 respectively ,in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), 2017 • PG Govt. College for Girls, Sector -11, honoured by MHRD for getting Swachh Campus Ranking 2017. • Two colleges ranked at 68 and 82 PG Govt. College for Girls, Sector -11 and SD College ,Sector-32 respectively ,in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), 2018 • MHRD selected two colleges of UT, Chandigarh PG Government College for Girls, sector-11 and PG Government College for Girls, sector-42 under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan2018. • MCM DAV College, Sector-36, got first rank in the country in the National Swachh Campus Ranking 2018 by Government of India. • MHRD selected PGGC-11 and SD College, Sector-32 for establishing Institution Innovation Council- 2018. • MCM DAV College , Sector-36, bagged 3rd rank in the country under Best Citizen Led Innovations under Swachh Sarveksan ,awarded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs , Govt. of India • Two colleges ranked at 72 and 99 Govt. Home Science College, Sector -10 and SD College ,Sector-32 respectively ,in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), 2019. Three colleges namely PGGCG-11, PGGCG-42, DAV-10, Chandigarh placed in Rank Band 101 to 200
