  1. Objective: 9 Sept. 2011 Apply what they have learned to conduct a lab experiment Intro • Pick up Penny Experiment LAB from front table. • We will be testing how many drops of water will fit on a penny. • Begin filling in the worksheet.

  2. Penny Experiment • Question: • How many drops of water can fit on a penny? • Hypothesis: • If I drop water on a penny then I can fit drops of water. • Materials: • Beaker w/ water • Pipette • Penny • Paper Towel

  3. Penny Experiment • Independent Variable: • Penny • Constants • Same penny • Same pipette • Dependent Variable: • Number of drops of water

  4. Penny Experiment • Procedure: • Use pipette to soak up water • Slowly drip the water, 1 drop at a time • Count how many drops fit on the penny until it spills over the edge • Repeat 2x
