2. The first rollercoaster was invented in Russia in the 1600s. They are not like any kind of roller coasters today. A Frenchman wanted to make money off of the popular Russian invention, so he tried to build one in France. But, because of France’s warm climate, the ice-coaster melted. So he built a wooden one. In the1850s, the first try at a vertical loop was made, and was called the Centrifuge Railway. But the government shut the coaster down after one accident. The beginning of the American roller coasters started in the 19th century. The first coaster was built in 1884. It was called a gravity driven switchback train. Another try at the vertical loop was in 1898. It was called the Flip-Flap Railway. However, it was a circle, not a modern clothoid loop, so it snapped peoples necks when they rode it,. The first metal coaster was invented by Walt Disney in 1949, called the Matterhorn. THE HISTORY OF THE ROLLERCOASTER

3. There are two kinds of energy: 1.Potential Energy 2.Kinetic Energy Potential energy is when something has the potential of moving because of condition and/or position. This means that something can move because of where it is. Kinetic Energy is when something is moving. Such as a rollercoaster moving down a hill. Our rollercoaster uses both.
