  5. Chuseok History What are the origins of Chuseok? • From the Silla kingdom. • Maybe from 55 BC. • Began as a weaving contest.

  6. Purpose of Holiday Past: Celebrate good harvest and full moon. Activities include tug of war, ssireum, archery and gama fighting. Present: Spend time with family members

  7. Thanksgiving • It’s on the fourth Thursday of November. • Many people see their families. • There are so many people at the airport on the Wednesday before!
