  1. 问路 对话一语言功能 (language functions)： • Ask for directions; • 怎么走? How to get there? • Give directions; • A 没有 B 远 / A 在 B 和 C 中间 / A 在 B 旁边 / A 在 B 里边 • Tell someone whether a place is far away from or close to another place • A 离 B 很 近 / 远 A is far away / close from B • Provide information about where I am going and why. • 到…去 I'm going …(+place)... to …(+purpose)

  2. 问路 对话二语言功能 (language functions)： • Locate places using landmark as references; 从 (from)    过 (pass) 往（左右）拐 (turn left/right) 路口 (intersection) 红绿灯 (traffic light) 一直 （straight ahead, continuously) Try to translate this: 从这儿，一直往南开，过三个路口，然后往右拐。 过两个红绿灯以后，就到了。

  3. 问路 俗语[súyǔ], 俗话[súhuà] (common saying): • 读万卷书不如行万里路 (it is important to see a place then just to read about it) • 四海之内皆兄弟 (the world is a big family, everyone is my brother or sister) 生词: 边 or 面 上/下 Top/Bottom + 边 or 面 前/后 Front/Back + 边 or 面 里/外 Inside/Outside + 边 or 面 旁 Next to + 边 左/右 Left/Right + 边 or 面 东/南/西/北 East South West North + 边 or 面 课外生词: (not listed in the textbook) 方向 （fāng xiàng / directions / 王朋说他没有方向感。） 问路 （wèn lù / ask for directions; 要是你不知道怎么去机场可以问路。）

  4. 对话一主要句型 • (我想去书店,) 不知道怎么走。 • 我想到书店去买书 / 我想去书店买书。 • 书店在什么地方(/哪儿)？ • 电脑中心没有运动场（那么）远。 • 图书馆离王朋的宿舍很近（/不远）。 • 我家（就）在学校和图书馆中间。(between A & B) • 书店（就）在学生活动中心里边。(A is inside of B) • 电脑中心（就）在运动场旁边。(A is next to B)

  5. 对话二主要句型 • 我没去过中国城，不知道中国城怎么走。 • 中国城我去过很多次，不用地图也能找到。 • 我忘了拿 （带）地图来了。 • 你从这儿一直往前开，过三个路口，往右一拐就到了。 • 我不知道东南西北。 • 这个路口只能往左拐，不能往右拐。 • 前面有很多中国字，你看见了吗？ • 他们最后开到了小东京了。 • 那我们不吃中国饭了，吃日本饭吧！

  6. 对话一主要句型 翻译 • I’d like to go to the bookstore, don’t know how to get there. (… 怎么走) • I’d like to go to the bookstore to buy books. (到…去/ …去…) • Where is the bookstore ?(…地方/哪儿 ?) • The computer center is not as far as the sports field. (…没有…远) • The library is close (not far) from Wang Peng’s dorm. (…很近 /不远 ) • My home is right in the middle of the school and library. (…中间) • The bookstore is right inside of the student activity center. (…里边) • The computer center is right next to the sports field. (…旁边)

  7. 对话二主要句型 翻译 • I’ve never been to Chinatown, I don’t know how to get there. (… 没去过) • I’ve been to Chinatown many times. I can find it without a map. (去过/ 找到) • I forgot to bring the map.(拿…来 / 带…来) • Go straight from here. After three blocks, turn right, and you’ll be right there. (一直往..，过..路口，一拐就到了) • I don’t have any sense of direction. (东南西北 ) • You can only turn left here. You can’t turn right. (只能…不能) • There are lots of Chinese characters in front of us. Did you see them? (看见了) • It turned out that they arrived at Little Tokyo at the end . (开到了) • Then let’s not have Chinese food, let’s have Japanese food instead.（了，吧）
