First Table of the Law Second Table of the Law These first three commandments relate to our relationship with God. These commandments help us relate to one another. The key to understanding all the commandments can be found in the FIRST.
The First Commandment “You shall have no other gods before me.” NO IDOLS
The Second Commandment “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.” NO SWEARING, CURSING, OR THOUGHTLESSLY USING GOD’S NAME
The Third Commandment “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” Focus on God
Assignment Since you probably watch TV, think about the language you hear on TV or on the school bus. Then talk to your parents or guardian about the language they remember on TV and in school when they were kids. Finally, if you can, visit with your grandparents or someone in that age group and ask them about TV and school when they were kids. Now write down what you learned about the differences. Ask yourself what you think it means and write down your thoughts.
