  3. GENERIC STRUCTURE • Identification identifies phenomenon to be described (what, where, when) • Description Describes parts, qualities, characteristics.

Language feature of text • Focus on specific participants • Use of simple present tense • Pronoun : I, you, he, we, they. • Noun : Book, shirt, table. • Noun Phrase : White house, green house • Adjective : Hot, blue, lazy, beautiful. • Preposition : In, at, on, under, in front of. • Adverbs : Eagerly, happily, now. • Linking Verb : Is, am, are. • Present Tense : Come, visit, get. • Attribute : Has, have.

  5. Example of Descriptive text My Brownie I have a pet. It is a dog and I call it brownie Brownies is a Chinese breed. It is small, fluffy and cute. It has got thick brown fur. When I cuddle it, the fur feels soft. Brownie does not like bones. Every day it east soft food like steamed rice, fish or bread. Every morning I give her milk and bread. When I am at school. Brownie plays with my cat. They get along well, and never fight maybe because Brownie does not bark a lot. It treats the other animals in our house gently, and it never eats shoes. Brownie is really a sweet and friendly animal

  6. Dea Dea is a very good and helpful student. She is in Year Seven at Mondial Lower Secondary school. Her teacher is very proud of her because she is very good in mathematics, english and science. Her friends often ask for her helps to solve math problems. All her friends and teacherss like heer. Now she is thirteen years old. She is tall. Her hair is long. She is not fat. She is dilligent and kind. She is also very helpful to her friends. She likes reading stories, cycling and playing badminton.

  7. My Grandma My grandma is a tidy old woman. She is now 80 years old. Her hair is long and tidy.She combs it everyday. She always puts things on the right place. Her clothes are always clean and neat. She lives alone. So she makes up her own bed. She cleans up the house. She also cooks her own meal every day.
