Digital Forestry Grid • Application Grid of Forest Resources and Forestry Eco-project Information (No. 2002AA104230) ,which is abbreviated as Digital Forestry Application Grid(namely DFG in short) . • Financed by high performance computer and core software item of national advanced technology R&D project Research Programs.

Digital Forestry Grid • Be a specialized application grid which provides supports for forest resource management and forestry eco-construction projects. • DFG provides specialization grid resource management, business logic development and running engine of grid application.
Digital Forestry Grid • Simultaneously construct multi-level forestry special application system for different purposes. • DFG integrates the data resources of forestry resources and forestry eco-construction projects in four levels of state, province, city and county, covering all kinds of data, such as satellite remote sensing images, spatial vector data, thematic attribute data and etc.
Digital Forestry Grid • As an application demonstration, the forest resource monitoring system and grain for green project analysis and management system have been developed for both state and provincial levels, which are important management tools for forestry resource management and forestry eco-construction projects.
Digital Forestry Grid • DFG can be put into used in different patterns. • Firstly, it can be an independent system for forestry-specialized computing environment. • Secondly, it can be connected to share the existing forestry information system and running environment by grid encapsulation the data, software, computer and storage devices distributed in forestry sector.
Goals for Long Term • Connecting with the other data grid • Continue pushing DFG in the 11th five-year program (2006-2010)for wide scope • Be test bed of WGISS’s technology • Use more data grid technology for more stability • How to management mass spatial information in grid • Try to provide more grid service, such as data resource service, spatial information analysis service, online statistic computing service
